Almere is a young city, still not well known to many people. Besides - or thanks to - this, the prejudices about Almere, suggesting that it's an ugly city full of concrete and uniformity are persistent and widespread. Most visitors and residents recognize, that on the contrary Almere is a spacious, green and versatile new city. We hope to show the beauty of this unique city, stressing in particular its modern architecture and natural areas, which sprung naturally on this former sea soil. It is definitely not our goal to provide an exhaustive list of things to do and see in Almere. We believe that websites that provide a comprehensive summary of, for instance, all significant buildings, restaurants, shops and accommodations in Almere already exist. In other words, this website aims to show the uniqueness and beauty of Almere, not only by text, but especially on the basis of photographs. The emphasis is thus on areas that we, as residents, believe are worth visiting. Please note that this website is not in any way linked to Almere's tourist board!
